Biomarker Discovery Toolkit

The scope of the TopGear Biomarker program is to develop software tools to assist in the identification, characterization, and refinement of sensitive biomarkers that identify exposure to toxicants that pose threats to military operations. TopGear, in conjunction with the US Army Center for Environmental Health and the University of Pennsylvania, has created a biomarker discovery tool capable of providing highly sensitive and specific signatures.

Signatures are currently extracted from gene expression data and provide resolution on differential expression profiles using computational techniques. the Biomarker Discovery Toolkit (BDT) contains sample data from various sources of toxicity profile experiments using mouse, rat, and human data.
